VICTORIA INSTITUTION 125TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION BADGE DESIGN COMPETITION

VICTORIA INSTITUTION 125TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION BADGE DESIGN COMPETITION

Victoria Institution will be celebrating Her 125th Anniversary on 14th August 2018.

To celebrate this grand occasion, the school together with the Victoria Institution Old Boys’ Association (VIOBA) is organising a competition to design a new badge to be used exclusively for the 125th Anniversary Celebrations.

This badge will be used by the present students for the whole of 2018 and also for all promotional activities (banners, buntings, T-shirts etc.).

The prizes are as follows:

Champion

  • 1 x dinner table for the VIOBA Annual Dinner (10 pax) in August 2018 worth RM 3,000.00
  • 10 x 125th Anniversary Special Edition T-Shirts

Runner Up

  • 1 x dinner table for the VIOBA Annual Dinner (10 pax) in August 2018 worth RM 3,000.00

Second Runner Up

  • 5 seats at a dinner table for the VIOBA Annual Dinner (5 pax) in August 2018 worth RM 1,500.00

The Rules & Regulations of the contest are as follows:

  1. This competition is open to ALL Present and Past students of Victoria Institution.
  2. Participants can be either individual or as a group (max of 5 persons/group).
  3. The design MUST incorporate the current school badge.
  4. The colours used MUST only be Oxford and Cambridge Blue, White, Black, Silver and Gold.
  5. Any of the following words MUST be incorporated into the design:
    • 125th Anniversary;
    • 125 Years;
    • 125 Years Celebration; or
    • 1893 -2018.
  6.  All artworks must be submitted on an A4 size paper together with a soft copy in a CD in a sealed envelope.
  7. Envelopes must be marked “125th ANNIVERSARY BADGE DESIGN COMPETITION”.
  8. Artworks must not be folded.
  9. The following details MUST be clearly written / printed on the reverse side of the art work:
    • Name/ Names of participants;
    • Team name (if any); and
    • Contact details (Telephone Number & email address).
  10. Each participant / group can submit multiple entries but each entry must be submitted separately.
  11. Competition date is from 11th September 2017 – 29th September 2017.
  12. All artworks can be submitted to the school office during the following hours:
    • 9.00 am – 12.00 pm , Monday to Fridays.
  13. Closing date for submission is 29th September 2017, 12.00 pm.
  14. Late entries will not be entertained.
  15. Incomplete entries will not be entertained.
  16. The top 10 best entries will be selected by a team comprising of members from the school and VIOBA.
  17. The top 10 entries will then be displayed on a dedicated Facebook page and the top 3 designs with the most LIKES will be selected for the final judging.
  18. The winning design will be announced on 23rd October 2017 at a special ceremony to launch the new design and also the 125th year celebrations to be held in the school hall.
  19. Ownership and copyright of all submitted designs will be the property of Victoria Institution Old Boys’ Association which may utilise any submitted designs for any purpose whatsoever.
  20. Judges’ decision is final.
